How to Draw A Cow's Face – Let's Get Started!
Step 1
This first step of our guide on how to draw a cow's face will begin with the pink muzzle at the front of the face.
This will be drawn with lots of curved lines as the outline, and at the base of this section the outline will extend inward to form the smiling mouth of the cow.
This part of the face may seem quite bare for now, but we will be adding a lot more details as we build on this picture in the next few steps of the guide!
Step 2 – Now, draw the first few outlines for the cow's head
Now that you have the muzzle of this cow's face drawing done, we can move the focus to the main part of the head for now.
To do this, we will be adding two more curved, wavy lines to the image. The one on the left will form the back of the head.
For this reason, this line will be more rounded and curved than the one on the right will be.
As for that line, extend it up from near the front of the muzzle and also have it curving slightly. As mentioned, this one will be a bit less rounded than the previous line.
When you're happy with how it looks, we can proceed to step 3!
Step 3 – Draw the eyes for the cow
Continuing with this guide on how to draw a cow's face, we will now be adding the eye outlines for this cow.
To do this, simply draw two oval shapes onto the face in the areas we show in our example. Then, draw a short curved line over the eye on the left to give the face more expression.
After that, draw another similar curved line over the eye on the right, but this one will extend down to the muzzle. We will then continue building onto this face in the fourth step of the guide!
Step 4 – Next, draw some details to the top of the head
We will be finishing off the final elements of the outline before you tackle the final details in the next step of this cow's face drawing.
First, draw a rounded shape to the center of the top of the head for a tuft of hair. Next, draw some curved shapes beside it for the short horns of the cow.
Finally, we shall then finish off this step by adding the large, rounded ears on either side of the top of the head.
That will finish off the head outline, and then you can move on to those final details we mentioned.
Step 5 – Add the final details to your cow's face drawing
This fifth step of our guide on how to draw a cow's face will see you finishing up the final details and elements. You will also have an opportunity to add some extra details and ideas of your own!
First, we will be drawing a rounded shape on the left-hand side of the face for a spot. Then, use some curved lines for the nose and the nostrils.
You can then finish off the eyes by drawing some circular shapes into the eye outlines as they appear in our example.
To finish off this step, draw some more small spots onto the ears, and then you're ready for the final step! Before you proceed, you could also add some of your own details.
These could include drawing more of the cow or even adding a fun background to really finish it off.
How will you complete this adorable picture?
Step 6 – Finish off your cow's face drawing with color
Now you're ready to finish off this cow's face drawing with some color!
The most well-known breeds of cows are colored in black and white, and you may think that it would limit your color choices when finishing this image.
In our reference image, we showed you how you can have some color variation even if you stick to black and white.
We did this by varying light and dark shades to create a more dynamic appearance.
Then, for the muzzle of the cow we used some lovely pinks to finish it off.
Will you go for similar colors in your own image or do you think you would like to go for a totally different color scheme? We look forward to seeing what you choose!
